- Support data analysis and bottle preparations
- Interpret and report environmental data accurately
- Work on environmental governance and compliance projects
- Collaborate with teams within the Environmental, Health, and Safety Department
- Assist team staff with lab procedures supporting Duke Energy facilities and properties in the Carolinas
- Assist with equipment maintenance, bottle preparations, and sampling duties
- Conduct fieldwork and potentially travel to project sites
- Work a 40-hour week where required during a 10-12-week summer internship/co-op session
- Currently enrolled in and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Must not graduate prior to August 2027
- Proficiency in data analysis, environmental monitoring techniques, and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Willingness and ability to conduct fieldwork under varying weather conditions
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the energy industry and environmental management
- Reliable, consistent transportation required
- Some opportunities require a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Potential security clearance/unescorted access requirements depending on work location
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
Demonstrates proficiency in data analysis and environmental monitoring techniques while effectively collaborating with diverse teams in environmental governance and compliance projects. Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to conduct fieldwork under varying conditions.
