Vacancy Title – Fire & Security Engineer

Summary of the RoleAdvance Fire & Security is looking for an experienced engineer to install, service and maintain fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving technical problems and delivers a professional, reliable service to customers.
What will you be doing?You will work on fire and security systems, carrying out installations, routine servicing and maintenance.
Duties include:
- Installing and servicing fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.
- Identifying faults and carrying out repairs.
- Checking that systems operate correctly and explaining their use to customers.
- Completing service records, handover documentation and timesheets accurately.
- Communicating clearly with customers and colleagues.
- Following safe working practices and keeping work areas tidy.
Applicants should be based within 30 miles of our office in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire (PE29 6FY
).
£45,000 per annum, with overtime opportunities
Skills Required- Practical experience installing and servicing fire and security systems.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- The ability to organise your workload and work independently.
- A reliable approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Previous experience as a fire and security engineer.
- Knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.
- Familiarity with systems from manufacturers such as Texecom, Galaxy, Dahua, Hikvision, Morley, Kentec and Paxton would be an advantage.
- Full UK driving licence.
- ECS card.
- FIA qualifications desirable.
