Construction Pipe Fitter

My client is seeking a skilled Construction Pipe Fitter to join their field operations team and support a variety of construction, utility, and environmental infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment. The successful candidate will have experience working with piping systems, excavation and trenching activities, underground utilities, and interpreting construction plans.

Candidates with experience on environmental, remediation, civil, or heavy construction projects are highly encouraged to apply. This position offers long-term career growth and the opportunity to work on diverse projects alongside an experienced team.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure, assemble, and install various types of piping systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify proper installation and perform quality checks to ensure work meets project specifications.
  • Read and interpret project drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Support trenching, potholing, and underground utility work as required.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Ensure work areas are safe, organized, and compliant with site safety requirements.
  • Work in environmental project settings where impacted soils or regulated materials may be present.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with other field and construction-related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on construction experience required.
  • Experience working with a variety of piping materials and pipe diameters.
  • Familiarity with leveling instruments and measurement tools.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices, particularly within environmental construction environments.
  • Ability to read and understand project plans and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work overtime and extended hours when project schedules require.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely use hand and power tools, including overhead work.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification or current 8-Hour Refresher preferred.
  • Candidates who do not currently hold a HAZWOPER certification may have the opportunity to complete the required training after hire.

Preferred Experience:

  • Environmental remediation or environmental construction projects.
  • Underground utility installation.
  • Construction site safety procedures and best practices.
  • Working from construction drawings and project specifications.
