This posting is to recruit qualified candidates to add to our substitute pool.

We reserve the right to limit the number of candidates to those deemed most qualified for the particular vacancy, based upon application screening and test scores.

There will be an application screening for the position to verify that the minimum qualifications (education & experience) have been satisfied. We will email you via (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). to advise you if you may participate in the written and/or performance exam. All candidates will be required to provide a photo  their signature. Face coverings are highly recommended but not required.

Written Exam: OVSD tests on Wednesdays. Once you have applied, it has been determined that your application is complete, and you have met the minimum qualifications, you will receive an invitation to test via email with the date of the exam. Please monitor your inbox for more information on testing/next steps. .

If you have already taken and passed the Instructional Assistant Competency Exam with one of the following districts, notify a member of the Personnel Commission staff at the time you are invited to the test:

• Newport-Mesa Unified School District
• Huntington Beach Union High School District

Documents/Attachments Required

* Certificate Copy (Valid and current Child Development Teacher Permit/Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or valid and current temporary county certificate toward Child Development Teacher Permit/Child Development Associate Teacher Permit, with proof of permit within 2 months of employment.)

* CPR/First Aid Certification

* Proof of HS Graduation (High school diploma, high school equivalent, GED certificate, high school transcripts, college degree, college transcripts are all accepted as proof of HS graduation.)

Comments and Other Information

Employees who work thirty (30) or more regularly assigned hours per week are eligible for health and welfare benefits and will receive a district contribution toward a cafeteria fringe benefit package.
