As an Engineer at WGZE, you will be essential in assisting in planning and design of roadway, traffic, municipal, and active transportation engineering projects. You will participate in the preparation of high-quality studies, reports, analyses, and project plans. You will also contribute to a high-quality team working with local agencies in delivering accurate, and comprehensive design drawings, cost estimates, and other project elements.

• Preparation of traffic impact studies.
• Preparation of traffic models via traffic modeling software such as SYNCHRO.
• Development of design plans and specifications, cost estimates, and design details for construction documents for roadways, agencies facilities, drainage facilities, traffic signal, signing & striping, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities.

• Interest and knowledge of the civil/traffic and transportation field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Possession of an Engineering In Training Certificate.
• Three or more years of experience as a Civil or Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity.
• Working knowledge of local agencies design standards, HCM, MUTCD, ADA, and relevant Caltrans design requirements.
• Working knowledge of engineering principles and techniques.
• Exhibits initiative and the ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple simultaneous projects, if necessary.
• General understanding of MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HCS, Synchro/Sim Traffic, or similar programs.
• Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
