The Learning Experience Design Manager plays a critical role in shaping how our standards, values, and expectations are learned, retained, and lived across the organization. This role is ideal for a learning leader who is energized by building systems, improving consistency, and ensuring training truly translates into confident execution in real store environments.
Position Summary: The Learning Experience Design Manager is an enterprise-level learning leader responsible for designing, testing, and continuously improving how training is structured, delivered, and retained across 7 Leaves Café. This role owns the learning experience itself-ensuring training content, sequencing, and reinforcement drive consistency and reduce the need for retraining. This role partners as a peer to Corporate Training Managers and collaborates closely with Operations, R&D, and Brand to diagnose where training does not stick and to strengthen learning systems that scale with the business.While primarily office-based, this role maintains a field connection through observation and validation to ensure learning design aligns with operational reality.
Position Details & Work Requirements:
Salary Range - $71,000k - $76,000k annually (Exempt)
Location - On-site at our Huntington Beach Corporate Office
- Work Environment:
Office first, Monday-Friday schedule with occasional store visits as needed - Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for qualified individuals.
What You'll Do:
Learning Experience Design & Effectiveness
- Design and continuously refine how training is structured, sequenced, and reinforced to improve retention and on-the-job application
- Identify breakdowns where training content does not stick and redesign learning experiences to address root causes
- Build scalable learning frameworks that support consistency across all stores and roles
Training Content Development
- Lead the development and evolution of training content across digital and in-person platforms
- Partner with R&D and Brand to ensure training materials are accurate, on-brand, and aligned to product and experience standards
- Support content readiness for rollout in partnership with Corporate Training Managers
Field Observation & Validation
- Conduct store observations as needed to validate learning effectiveness and identify system-level gaps
- Gather insights from field execution to inform improvements to training design and content
- Pilot and test new learning approaches prior to broader rollout
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a peer partner to Corporate Training Managers, supporting field execution through stronger learning design
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to align learning systems with operational priorities
- Act as a connector between training strategy, content development, and real-world application
What This Role Does Not Own:
- In-store retraining or execution of retraining plans
- Store performance, labor management, or operational decision-making
- Final operational authority (owned by Operations)
- Required:
Field training or store-level leadership experience in a multi-unit or operational environment - Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training design
