Recreation Aide

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Recreation Aide to join our team at Apex Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Huntington Station, New York. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by creating engaging and enjoyable recreational activities. • Coordinate and lead recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and social events, tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents
• Develop and implement recreational programs and events that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well‑beingi>
• Assist with planning and execution of special events, such as birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and themed activities
• Provide support with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for all activities and events
• Collaborate with other care staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination
• Focus on resident-centered care and priorities, aligning with our company's mission of "Care Above All Else"

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2 years of experience in a healthcare or recreational setting preferred
• Ability to work effectively with seniors and individuals with varying abilities
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift, transfer, and move residents as needed
• Familiarity with recreational activities and program planning a plus

• Part‑time position with flexible scheduling 3 days per week 8 am–4 pm with alternating weekends
