+ Create and update basic electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation to support ongoing projects.
+ Assist engineers and team members with lab activities, experiments, and testing procedures.
+ Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation to support assembly and troubleshooting.
+ Provide general support for sustaining engineering efforts across multiple projects, including maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
+ Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate execution of tasks and timely completion of project milestones.
+ Participate in hands-on tasks in the lab, including basic electrical assembly, soldering, and laboratory testing as needed.
+ Contribute to a learning-focused environment by seeking feedback, asking questions, and continuously improving technical skills.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
+ Fundamental understanding of electrical engineering principles and electronics.
+ Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
+ Basic experience or exposure to electrical assembly and laboratory testing environments.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
+ Willingness to perform hands-on tasks, including assembly, testing, and general lab support.
+ Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability.
+ Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
+ Motivation to learn, adapt, and take on a variety of responsibilities in a lab-based setting.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Soldering experience or training, with openness to receiving additional soldering training if needed.
+ Exposure to embedded hardware through coursework, academic projects, or personal projects.
+ Familiarity with board-level electronics and related components.
+ Prior lab experience, internship experience, or hands-on project work involving electronics or electrical systems.
+ Interest in hands-on electrical work and continuous learning in a practical lab environment.
+ Desire to grow into higher-level engineering responsibilities over time, such as roles in electrical engineering or electronic technology.
+ Interest in long-term career stability and development within the local area.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in a lab environment in Fort Wayne. You will work directly with electrical assemblies, cable harnesses, embedded hardware, and board-level electronics, using standard lab tools and test equipment. The environment emphasizes hands-on work, collaboration, and continuous learning, with exposure to a variety of projects rather than being limited to a single assignment. The position follows a structured schedule that aligns with an established holiday calendar and includes paid time off.
