Under general direction, housekeepers routinely clean patient rooms, nursing units, clinical areas, offices, lounges, lobbies, waiting areas and restrooms while ensuring a safe and risk‑preventative environment within OSHA and Joint Commission regulations. Using various cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, housekeepers wipe equipment, clean furniture, polish floors and vacuum carpets. They make beds, empty trash and restock cleaning supplies. Housekeepers also collect dirty laundry from all patient areas and distribute the clean linen back to the appropriate floors.

Housekeepers take a daily inventory as well as inspect their equipment for any repairs or replacements and demonstrate the ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.

A minimum of six (6) months experience in housekeeping duties is ideal, preferably in a health‑care facility. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Education:

High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

Housekeeping: 1 year (Preferred);
Hospital experience: 1 year (Preferred)
