Chief Nursing Officer Opportunity
River Park Hospital is a 187-bed facility and long‑standing leader in behavioral health care. Located in Huntington, WV, the hospital provides acute inpatient services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors, with a 22‑bed residential treatment program for adolescents. River Park has been recognized as a Top Performer by the Joint Commission and maintains the highest standards for quality care. Huntington is the second largest city in WV, situated on the scenic Ohio River and part of the Tri‑State area (WV, KY, OH), close to major cities and state parks.
Our new Chief Nursing Officer will be a key member of the River Park Leadership Team, integrating and coordinating a patient‑centric nursing strategy with a hands‑on approach and keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high‑quality and cost‑effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.
The CNO will participate in the hospital’s strategic planning and contribute to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The CNO will focus on five key areas:
People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance.
The Chief Nursing Officer will develop and implement nursing strategies, oversee clinical staff, manage budgets, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, foster a culture of excellence, and collaborate with leadership to advance organizational goals.
Qualifications- Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of West Virginia.
- Master of Science in Nursing from a CCNE‑accredited program.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices; highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Five or more years of progressive nursing management experience.
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
