The Quality Engineer / Shopfloor Support Specialist provides hands‑on support to manufacturing and inspection teams by troubleshooting inspection equipment, maintaining documentation, and supporting product disposition. This role is responsible for helping ensure quality requirements are met across all shifts while driving effective use of inspection software and related tools.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer / Shopfloor Support Specialist provides hands‑on support to manufacturing and inspection teams by troubleshooting inspection equipment, maintaining documentation, and supporting product disposition. This role is responsible for helping ensure quality requirements are met across all shifts while driving effective use of inspection software and related tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily quality and inspection support on the shop floor.
  • Update inspection paperwork and documentation for legacy products as needed.
  • Troubleshoot CMM systems and other inspection equipment to support production flow.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of UCC Server, Renishaw products, and related inspection technologies.
  • Support MRB activities daily to help move product through disposition and release processes.
  • Fully implement and integrate inspection software into daily quality operations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for inspection software and provide training and support across all three shifts.
  • Complete customer Device History Record reviews upon request.
  • Maintain the customer complaint log and complete complaint investigation reports accurately and on time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline required.
  • Experience in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CMM operation, inspection methods, metrology tools, and quality documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot inspection equipment and coordinate effective corrective action.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to train and support employees across multiple shifts.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with UCC Server and Renishaw products is a plus.
  • Experience with High QA inspection software preferred but not required.
