** We are seeking a
** Quality Engineer II
** for our
** Huntington, Indiana Plant.
***
* Position Summary:

** In this position, you will be the face of the facility to the customer. This is a hands-on position. You will be working with production, quality, and engineering, and are responsible for the quality of your assigned program.
*
* Essential Job Functions:

*** Become familiar with customer Specific Quality System Requirements including the customer specific portal.
* Act as liaison with external parties (customer & supplier) on matters relating to assigned product.
* Head all APQP efforts, responsible for reviewing and updating as needed.
* Process flow diagrams.
* Process control plans.
* Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis plans.
* Manufacturing work instructions.
* Quality Inspection instructions.
* Error proofing effectiveness.
* Internally collected variable and attribute data.
* BOM accuracy.
* Responsible for managing customer issues.
* Internal product sorts / quality alerts.
* Interim corrective actions.
* Permanent corrective actions.
* Answering to the customer on any concerns/issues they have, including written and verbal.
* Train employees to quality issues as needed.
* Develop, document, and provide for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality through layered process auditing and scrap reduction.
* Read and Interpret GD & T and applying that knowledge as needed.
* Perform Problem-solving Techniques.
* Perform Process Capabilities using Statistical Techniques as needed.
* Be familiar with supplier PPAP’s and procedures.
* Supports IATF
16949 and ISO
14001 initiatives.
* Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
** Requirements:
*** Four year degree required and 10-15 years of quality and/or quality engineering experience in the Automotive Industry.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
* Must possess strong math skills and mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve conflicts and to hand issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
