Job Description

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is looking for Retail Associates for our store in Huntington, IN. This role involves serving the community while building your career in an eco‑friendly organization. As a Retail Associate, you will handle customer purchases, operate the POS terminal, maintain the sales floor, sort and grade donations, and provide donor assistance.

• Operate cash register, provide correct change and receipts, and bag purchases.
• Accept credit card payments following established procedures.
• Monitor for illegal activity and alert management.
• Keep the register area orderly and stocked with supplies.
• Maintain the floor and fitting rooms during business hours.
• Refer customer problems to management.
• Sort, hang, tag, and grade clothing donations per guidelines.
• Pull items from storage as needed.
• Meet established production standards.
• Perform heavy lifting, pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Deliver all aspects of customer service professionally.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support Goodwill’s mission.

• Assist customers in locating merchandise and pricing.
• Display merchandise in windows and display cases.
• Answer telephone and other inquiries regarding donation sites and policies.
• Attend monthly store meetings.

• Minimum of three months of retail or related work experience.
• No specialized education required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Ability to make change and operate a POS terminal.
• Basic literacy for completing forms.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally, and 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Background check and random alcohol and drug testing.
