Field Service Technician

Job Description

Perform onsite field service activities at customer locations, including installation, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and training activities requiring approximately 85% travel.

• Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
• Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
• Realigns and adjusts components.
• Start‑up and debug of equipment to test operation following repair/installation.
• Installs and troubleshoots electrical components.
• Understands PLCs and ladder logic.
• Can make software changes on a limited basis.
• Provides training to customers on proper maintenance and operation of equipment.
• Supervisory responsibilities as Lead Technician when required, overseeing onsite personnel and coordinating projects with customer contacts.

• High school diploma or GED, or minimum 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willing and able to travel approximately 85% of the time; valid driver’s license and passport or eligibility to obtain a passport.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and ladder logic programs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical wiring and ladder logic.
• Mathematical proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure).
• Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills, including writing routine reports and presenting to customer groups.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Capability to deal with problems involving few variables in standardized situations.
