Technician, Scientist or Geologist

If you are looking to start or grow your environmental consulting career through hands-on fieldwork, technical learning, and exposure to meaningful projects across Long Island and the New York metro area, GEI’s Huntington Station office may be the right fit. We are seeking a Geologist or Environmental Scientist to support field investigations, environmental sampling, groundwater treatment system monitoring, remedial construction oversight, and related documentation while working alongside experienced senior staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical technical skills, contribute to impactful environmental projects, and gain exposure to a variety of project types, including remediation, ecological support, and offshore wind-related work.

• Environmental sampling of various media, implementation of community air monitoring programs (CAMP), and technical oversight of subcontractors.
• OM&M for various groundwater treatment technologies for sites on Long Island and within the New York metro area.
• Interaction with subcontractors, clients and regulatory agency representatives.

• B.S. or A.S. in Environmental Science or Geology.
• Between 0 and 3 years of previous professional experience in environmental consulting.
• Mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience with sampling, air monitoring or groundwater treatment systems is a plus.
• Previous experience with technical report writing is a plus.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
• OSHA 30-hr Construction Safety is a plus.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
