Job Title:

Varied Hours/Varied Days. Includes every other weekend and Holidays. Shift can start as early as 6:00pm and as late as 9:00pm. Shift can end as early as 6:30am and as late as 9:30am.

Job Description

Performs an age specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments. Uses leadership skills/clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team.

Job Responsibility

• Assess the patient's physiologic health status
• Assess the patient's psychosocial health status
• Identify patient outcome
• Formulate the plan of care and establish the priorities necessary to achieve expected outcome
• Implement the plan of care
• Evaluate care provided for patient outcome
• Collaborate with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimen; provide direction to other members of the care team
• Perform grade I-IV Decubitus Care
• Administer medications correctly and safely
• Participate in patient and family education
• Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment, if hired after January 1, 2013 and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of employment date.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BLS, NRP and ACLS Required
  • Documented Labor & Delivery competency/ Transitional Newborn Care Experience required
  • C-EFM preferred or obtained by 1 year of hire.
  • AWHONN intermediate course and EFM certification preferred.
  • OB Float
