CDM Smith is seeking a CEI Roadway and Bridge Construction Inspector 3 for projects in Fairmont, WV. This evergreen position helps build our candidate pool for future transportation construction opportunities. If this role becomes available, you may be contacted about employment opportunities.

Our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group provides construction services for federal, public, private, and international transportation projects. We offer program management, design-build expertise, and sustainable solutions to meet current and future infrastructure and environmental challenges.

• Inspect and monitor construction activities at field sites, focusing on traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, under direct supervision.
• Assess day-to-day contractor performance and review daily reports; verify quality control procedures and material testing align with the approved Quality Control Plan and procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for contract conformance; measure quantities of materials placed; may perform sampling or in-place testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity (e.g., ACI or NICET) in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete as required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
