Graduate Assistant

Position Title:

Graduate Assistant (15 positions available)

Position Details:
Assign one half‑time (one course) or one full‑time (two courses) undergraduate course(s) or lab(s) as Adjunct instructor of record. Responsible for assigning student grades and following all university teaching guidelines.

• Attend all required training, workshops, and orientations.
• Teach in the Writing Center as assigned, performing all duties associated with university teaching, including assisting students, cooperating with the Writing Center director, and abiding by all policies.
• Teach three‑hour classes in English Composition as assigned, posting and holding office hours, and abiding by course, department, and university policies.
• Hold class during all scheduled meeting times, with exceptions approved by the composition coordinator.
• Meet with supervisors as designated.
• Maintain satisfactory progress toward degree and remain in good academic standing.
• Completion of ENG 630:
  Materials & Methods of Research, ENG 560:
  Writing Center Theory, & ENG 640:
  Teaching College English.
• Work with a designated teacher‑mentor as assigned.

Stipend: $4,250 per semester with tuition waived (student responsible for fees and books). Placement may be renewed for a subsequent semester subject to full‑time enrollment and funding.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.
