Job Description- Valid WV Teaching Certificate with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of classroom management.
- Strong organizational skills to develop ongoing, sustained engagement with teachers.
- Strong background knowledge of collecting and interpreting educational data for all subject areas.
- Minimum of "Accomplished" on instructional sections of evaluations for past 3 years.
- Demonstrated growth on benchmarks/assessments.
- Letter of recommendation from principal.
- Must attend mentor professional development sessions.
$5,000.00 Supplemental Contract for work completed outside the regular school day.
Responsibilities- Work in collaboration with school administrators to assist with the orientation of Teachers in the New Teacher Induction Program, Teachers in Residence, and Long‑term Substitutes.
- Demonstrate lessons for teachers, as needed.
- Model/teach instructional strategies, as needed.
- Model/teach classroom management strategies, as needed.
- Conduct professional development sessions for Teachers in the New Teacher Induction Program, Teachers in Residence, and Long‑term Substitutes.
- Observe classroom teaching skills and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain documentation and evidence of these activities through logs, sign‑in sheets, etc. and be able to evaluate program success.
- Act as a liaison between teachers, school, and county.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, county policy and administrative regulations.
- Maintain professional work habits.
- Be a role model in all aspects of professional conduct.
- Keep all discussions regarding assigned teachers confidential.
- Provide information to administrators as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school/county offices.
- Attend Mentor training/Professional development.
