* After school positions will be offered based on student enrollment and available funding. A minimum enrollment of 10 students per teacher is required for each session in order to provide after school services. Positions may be terminated if funding ends or enrollment is insufficient.
Positions- Healthy Choices Teacher (Offered 4 Nights Per Week/30 minutes per session)
- Provide after school instruction based upon program design and student needs.
- Document after school lessons following program guidelines.
- Attend all professional development related to after school duties, including three mandatory days of training prior to the start of the school year.
- Complete required documentation, including attendance for all students, in an accurate and timely manner, and maintain after school records.
- Intentional planning and preparations.
- Regular attendance tracking & progress monitoring requirements are met, as instructed.
- Recruit and sign up students weekly.
- Implement STC's Healthy Choices components with fidelity and use resources provided.
- Organize and maintain program materials and space.
- Daily snack/meal is served in accordance with USDA guidelines, and verbal communication is provided for children to connect their snack/meal with nutritional value.
- Proper planning and preparations are made for the nutrition word of the week and the weekly nutrition lesson, including preparing a bulletin board/word wall with monthly themes.
- Proper planning and preparations are made for physical activities during the Healthy Choices rotation.
- Lesson plans and activity logs are submitted weekly to the Site Coordinator.
- Align after school activities with regular-day programming.
- Participate in all trainings related to the components they will be implementing.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining program materials and space.
- Assist in administering all required assessments.
- Analyze data and plan for appropriate instruction.
- Be mindful of diverse learners and make adaptations to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with Save the Children's Lead Associate to foster an understanding of safeguarding and data protection policies through ongoing training and technical assistance.
- Work closely with all program staff to ensure consistent reporting of safeguarding risks and incidents; strong methodology in the field for managing risks and following reporting protocols;
- Supply proper documentation in support of incident reports as needed and collect data on safeguarding risks and efforts to mitigate risks in the program environment.
- Make intentional, regular efforts to remain up-to-date on key local and state child welfare policies and reporting protocols.
- Follow all key local and state child welfare policies and reporting protocols.
- In association with program training and technical assistance efforts, update/communicate.
- "Keep Children Safe" messaging to volunteers, beneficiaries, and representatives, as needed.
- Ensure data protection by collecting consent and maintaining records for designated time periods.
- Store all data in a secure location, and protect any shared data through encryption or by sharing to a secure location.
- Complete all required Save the Children Safeguarding trainings.
- Submit attendance and activity logs to the Program Site Coordinator as designated by program policy.
- Communicate with regular-day teachers to provide Support for Personalized Learning (SPL).
- Involve parents by utilizing volunteers, scheduling parent activities, and conducting family nights.
