Job Description
The Counseling Department invites applications for a tenure‑track position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2024.
Responsibilities- Teach an assigned load of synchronous and asynchronous graduate‑level courses using Blackboard Ultra LMS, Microsoft Teams, and other relevant instructional technologies.
- Provide engaged advising to a group of students in a manner commensurate with other duties.
- Maintain consistent accessibility for advisees, students, faculty, and colleagues.
- Participate in department, college, university, professional, and community service.
- Maintain an active research agenda that includes the pursuit of external funding.
- Provide leadership of a designated course(s) and supervise a teaching team of instructors.
- Support ongoing accreditation and continuous improvement of the Counseling Department.
- Ensure administrative and communication processes of the Department, College, and University are implemented quickly and efficiently.
The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum and its emphasis on using high‑impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one or more of the institution’s pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community‑based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.). In addition, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
