Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for improving and maintaining assigned manufacturing processes. This role focuses on process control reviews, continuous improvement, and productivity enhancement through Lean and Kaizen methodologies in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Review and optimize manufacturing process controls to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen principles.
- Develop and refine cell layouts to enhance workflow and reduce non-value-added activities.
- Implement Set-Up Reduction (SMED) to minimize downtime.
- Identify and reduce process waste to improve productivity and meet target costs.
- Analyze production data to identify recurring issues and propose corrective actions.
- Support lead time reduction efforts to enhance overall manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with customers, plant staff, and production teams to meet operational goals.
- Ensure cost targets and efficiency metrics are achieved for assigned product lines.
- Participate in problem-solving activities related to existing product manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
- Industrial Engineering degree holders with relevant process engineering experience may be considered.
- Strong, hands-on mechanical engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proven background in process improvement (efficiency, waste, and scrap reduction).
- Experience with AIAG core tools such as APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
- Knowledge of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley or Fanuc preferred; other systems acceptable).
- Exposure to robotics or automation systems manufacturing environments.
- Basic understanding of 3D CAD design tools (preferred).
- Stable and progressive work history demonstrating consistent technical growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
