Under limited supervision and oversight, the Environmental Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, corporate environmental policies, standards, procedures and strategic environmental goals within their assigned region, plant and project scope.
Responsibilities include providing training, guidance and other necessary support to business unit leadership and staff on applicable environmental requirements, identifying applicable environmental requirements associated with company assets and projects, and coordinating with appropriate business unit staff, Environmental Services representatives, contractors, and external parties to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
Key Environmental Programs:
- Above ground and underground storage tanks
- Transportation of hazardous materials
- Solid and hazardous waste management
- Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures
- Wastewater, storm water, groundwater, and drinking water sampling, reporting and control
- Oil and chemical spill response and management
- Air emissions monitoring, control and reporting
- Asbestos and PCB management
- Pollution prevention
- Environmental site assessments
- Emergency planning and community right-to-know
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in environmental, science, or related discipline.
Work Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of environmental experience with an Associate degree or minimum of four (4) years of environmental experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demand: Ranges from sedentary to light duty.
Travel: 20% – 40% including occasional overnight stays.
Availability: Must be available by phone after work hours and on weekends (minimal frequency).
Compensation and BenefitsStandard base pay is $74,551 – $93,189 per year. Additional compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package to support overall well‑being.
Environmental Coordinator SeniorUnder long-range administrative direction, the Environmental Coordinator Senior coordinates the implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements and corporate environmental policies, standards, procedures and strategic environmental goals within their assigned region, plant and project scope.
Responsibilities mirror those of the Coordinator, with a more proficient understanding of many environmental programs.
