Position: SOCIAL WORKER (BA/BSW)

Qualifications

Essential Core Functions:

  • Treatment Planning
  • Discharge/aftercare planning
  • Utilization review, including submission of continued stay requests
  • Chart reviews and medical record documentation, including reports
  • Communication with patients, families, physicians, staff and external entities
  • Conduct psycho-education and focus groups with patients
  • Patient/family education
  • Testifying at court and participating in MDT meetings. Transports youth.
  • Provides additional functions as needed by program.
  • Job Specifications:

  • Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience
  • a. BSW in Social Work (preferred) or BA in Counseling or Psychology. MSW/MA preferred.
  • b. Social Work license in State of WV
  • c. One year experience with children preferred.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities required
  • a. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • b. Knowledge of community resources
  • c. Knowledge of authorization of care, child welfare and juvenile justice processes
  • d. Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • e. Ability to assess patient/family needs for treatment and discharge planning purposes
  • f. Customer service
  • g. Treatment/discharge planning.
