Position Details

Responsibilities- Facilitate recovery‑oriented group and individual supportive intervention services with students and community members (as approved by direct supervisor).
- Conduct outreach visits to an assigned area.
- Provide outreach and early intervention to individuals in the pre‑contemplation and contemplation stages of change as well as those experiencing symptoms of a recurrence of symptoms.
- Plan, promote & host training events and informational sessions related to the recovery program.
- Deliver remarks and speak to the public to combat stigma.
- Assist individuals in crisis situations involving social, emotional, health and other problems.
- Work on college campuses and with faculty, staff and administration to develop support for students.
- Link students with support groups, treatment programs and other community resources.
- Build and maintain partnerships across campus and communities.
- Act as a liaison between students, campuses, communities and service organizations.
- Report to the supervisor and project coordinator.
- Assist with the implementation of project activities to ensure that the program goals, objectives, activities are met at specified stages in the timeline.
- Participate in trainings and the certification process; adhere to the code of ethics for PRSS at all times.
- Participate in weekly conference calls to report on progress.
- Collect recovery capital assessments and develop recovery treatment plans.
- Collect and submit required data, prepare written reports and other administrative tasks as required.
- Assist individuals served with setting goals, creating and monitoring individualized change/recovery plans and working toward developing skills to attain and sustain recovery.
- Complete reports, paperwork and time sheets.
- Gain a working knowledge of center policies, procedures and regulations and the center’s service delivery model.
- Represent the school and the network in a positive manner, including maintaining a positive attitude and performing duties in a manner in accordance with the higher education institution’s missions, codes of conduct and ethical practices.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
There is a 6‑month probationary period with this position. Successful candidate may be in a mentoring position of student workers.
Required Qualifications- Education:
High School Diploma or GED (or higher). - Hold a current PRSS SUD Credential.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, evidence‑based practices, and recovery support.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
- Must be involved with a personal support and/or recovery system of their choosing.
- Personal history with a substance use disorder and a stable recovery for a minimum of two years.
- Must have no legal involvement related to SUD/OUD within the last six months.
- Must have not had intensive behavioral health treatment involvement in the last six months.
- Must pass a criminal background check and employment fitness determination through WVCARES and drug screen.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills.
- College experience preferred.
Location:
OTHR - Other Off‑Campus Location.
Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
