Travel RN - Med​/Surg Float Pool

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a Level II Trauma, major teaching hospital, with strong orthopedic experience and Cerner proficiency preferred.

Job Details

• Short-term acute care setting at a 330-bed Level II Trauma, major teaching hospital that is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH),

• Medical Surgical Float Pool unit with floating required within scope to meet facility needs,

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM),

• Schedule is distributed in 8-week increments; block scheduling is not guaranteed but may be attempted,

• Full-time weekend requirement of 4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays per contract,

• No on-call requirements,

• Charting is performed in Cerner,

• Free parking available in both a parking lot and parking garage,

Job Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license - pending licenses are not accepted,

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred,

• Strong orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred,

• Cerner EMR experience required for first-time travelers; preferred for all candidates,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Cerner experience,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible - local candidates are not accepted,

• Holiday time off requests are permitted for one of the three major holidays, subject to client approval,

• Black scrubs required; a Cabell-branded T-shirt may be substituted for the scrub top,

• When assigned to the Surgery department, facility-provided surgical scrubs must be worn,

• 13-week contract,
