Major duties/functions include, but are not limited to:
* Deliver self-directed, professional nursing practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) for complex patients based on conscious and deliberate planning with occasional supervision.
* Independently identifies expected outcomes as measurable informatics goals.
* Utilize specific evidence-based actions and steps specific to the identified problem to achieve defined outcomes.
* Utilize healthcare capabilities and the technology adjoined to the EHR to deliver quality care by developing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing informatics tools.
* Establish formal and informal consultative relationships that can also provide professional development.
* Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own nursing informatics judgments and actions, recognizing and addressing ethical concerns.
* Demonstrate knowledge over a wide range of job responsibilities, effectively communicating with individuals and groups to build a strong sense of teamwork.
* Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders that impact informatics.
* Prepare the New Electronic Health Record Modernization estimated for implementation in FY31.
* Assist with informatic duties providing inpatient and outpatient support.
* Will be the SME responsible for building templates and creating multiple reports for VOCERA, ICU documentation, (ICCA) Coordinator, and Anesthesia documentation system.
* Assist in developing inpatient nursing care plans, educate nurses on national VAAES documentation requirements, and conduct new employee education on the Electronic Health Record.
* Participate in ongoing educational activities related to appropriate knowledge bases and nursing informatics.
* Apply evidence-based practice/research, considering patient preferences, to improve quality of care and resource utilization, participating in established improvement activities.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay:
