Job Title: Travel RN OR – Operating Room

Location: Huntington, West Virginia (Facility in Huntington)

Start Date: ASAP;
Duration: 13 weeks;
Hours: 36 hours per week;
Shift: 12 hours, days;

• Prepares the operating room ensuring instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure.
• Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintains a sterile field and follows infection control protocols.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly.
• Monitors the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
• Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal per protocols.
• Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport, ensuring accurate diagnostic results.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately.
• Participates in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases, ensuring continuity of care.
• Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follows hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

• 1+ year recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).

• ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications (AHA/ARC).
• OR Nursing Certification (CNOR).
• Other relevant certifications or licenses.

• Critical thinking, service excellence, interpersonal communication.
• Strong English language reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Proficient in following written and verbal instructions; PC skills.
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push/pull, bend.
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personnel.
• Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, and assisting with procedures.
• Mental resilience to cope with frequent contact, deadlines, and pressure.
• Visual acuity and effective communication.
