Job Opportunity – Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit RN – West Virginia
Start Date: ASAP
Location: West Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 Nights, 7:00pm - 7:00am, weekdays with some weekends; blocked schedules considered (weekend blocks only: Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
Highlights:
- 13-week contract with possible extension
- Stepdown unit with varied acuity levels – many patients would qualify as Progressive Care or Telemetry in larger facilities
- Typically 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; flex to 1:5 in emergencies
- 36-bed unit with 34 average daily census; primarily cardiac patients including post-cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, plus general med/surg population
- Cerner EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams
- 8-hour orientation provided; flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
Requirements:
- Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state); pending licenses accepted for submission
- Minimum 2 years total RN experience required; specifically 1 year med/surg or telemetry experience and 2 years stepdown experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficient in IV starts, cardiac telemetry, and interpretation of cardiac rhythm strips
- Experience with Cerner EMR system required
- Must maintain permanent address at least 75 miles from facility location
- Ability to limit holiday requests to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
