Hospital Services Technician

WM is seeking a Part-Time Hospital Services Technician to support safe, compliant handling of medical and hazardous waste in a healthcare setting. In this role, you will collect, sort, and transport waste from hospital units, label and stage materials for pick-up, and maintain clean, organized storage areas. You will follow strict OSHA, DOT, and WM safety procedures, use proper PPE, and document materials using basic tracking tools.

You'll work closely with hospital staff and WM drivers, helping deliver essential environmental and sustainability services to the community.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and safely handle medical and hazardous waste from hospital units
• Operate carts, containers, and basic equipment to transport waste to designated areas
• Follow OSHA, DOT, and WM safety and compliance procedures at all times
• Label, package, and stage materials for pick-up and proper disposal or treatment
• Maintain clean, organized storage and handling areas in the hospital
• Complete basic documentation, logs, and tracking forms accurately
• Communicate with hospital staff and WM drivers on pick-up schedules and needs
• Report safety concerns, spills, or equipment issues promptly
• Use basic computer or handheld systems for tracking and reporting
• Support sustainability and recycling initiatives per WM and hospital guidelines
