Scale Operator - 2nd Shift

• Base Pay $19.05 - $22.85 / Hour

The Scale Operator manages the scale house operations, checks in drivers and handles related paperwork.

• Operate truck scale and ensure all incoming and outgoing trucks are weighed, documentation is completed, and load information is verified.
• Maintain office/departmental reports and logs as assigned.
• Coordinate with Distribution and/or Receiving Supervisors; keep the supervisor informed of all incoming/outgoing trucks and traffic flow.
• Direct truck drivers to the correct dock doors/area.
• Ensure all paperwork (shipping manifest, weight tickets, control forms, trucking invoices and bill of lading) is signed and completed.
• Verify seals and driver information for load integrity; schedule inbound/outbound appointments as necessary. Collect and deliver necessary paperwork to the proper department as directed by procedures.
• Collaborate with the Distribution/Receiving department to ensure orders are ready for ASN labels; build ASN labels as needed to process orders in QAD shipping correctly.
• Oversee building security and monitor for unauthorized individuals/vehicles entering the property.
• Maintain safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
• Document preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality; report all food safety and quality issues to management immediately.
• Partner with others, share knowledge and information within the team and across functional areas.
• Develop technical, functional, professional, and leadership skills; contribute to team growth.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures for health and workplace safety; support a safety culture by practicing safe behaviors and reporting hazards.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

• Minimum one year experience in an office or distribution environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills and

Competencies:

• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Detail oriented with good math skills.
• Self-starter with ability to handle heavy clerical workload.

Job Specific Requirements:

• This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
