Vascular Sonographer-Vascular Surgery Huntley Full Time Days

This is a Full Time position at 40 hours per week located at the Huntley clinic. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. No call, nights or weekends.

Responsibilities include demonstrating I-CARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence) in daily work and interactions, presenting a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance, providing accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, using effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns when they occur, demonstrating teamwork by helping co-workers within and across departments, using organizational and unit/department resources efficiently, managing work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time, contributing to opportunities and processes for continuous improvement, participating in efforts to reduce costs, streamline work processes, improve and grow services we provide, selecting appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications, assessing patient pain interfering with imaging procedure, selecting a transducer and adjusting the equipment controls according to the prescribed area of interest, the depth of field and other specifications of test, entering test data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results, moving transducer, by hand, over specified area of the body and to monitor quality of images produced, producing images of internal structures and records diagnostic data, performing all quality control checks, as prescribed, determining physicians orders and performing procedures accordingly, explaining the test to the patient, instructing and assisting the patient in assuming the physical position for examination, giving the patient post exam instructions, maintaining accurate QC logs, service records, etc.,

appropriately utilizing the functionality of the Epic system within their job responsibilities, and staying informed of Epic system updates and implementing into daily work.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Certification:
Ultrasound Technician Certificate from accredited school. Certified Registered Vascular Tech. American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.

Behavioral Attributes:
Basic computer knowledge.

Preferred:
Graduate of AMA approved training program in ultrasonography preferred. Registered Vascular Tech preferred.

Internal employees and rehires who left Northwestern Medicine within 1 year are not eligible for the sign on bonus. Exception:
New graduate internal employees seeking their first licensed clinical position at NM may be eligible depending upon the job family.
