American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for an interventional lab servicing Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology, requiring ARRT certification and 1+ years of hospital imaging experience.
Details- Interventional lab servicing Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Weekend requirement with on-call every 3rd weekend plus 1-2 weekday call shifts
- Responsible for winter holiday call coverage
- 30-minute meal break
- Potential to float between facilities within the health system if requested by the unit
- ARRT certification required; RCIS alone is not accepted
- BSN required
- Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) certification required
- BLS and ACLS certification required through AHA
- Illinois license required in hand at time of consideration; emergency or pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of direct hospital experience in Medical Imaging required
- CVT or RCIS certification preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills required in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, ASD closures, rotablator atherectomy
- Experience with electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and tilt table studies
- Experience with vascular studies/procedures including carotid stenting and endovascular interventions
- Proficiency with vascular closure systems (Perclose, Star Close)
- Experience with Siemens equipment
- Ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and interpret dysrhythmias
- Experience serving as room circulator and scrubbing to maintain sterile field
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
- License required if applicable
- Responsibilities include equipment set up, maintaining sterile field, and assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Non-licensed direct patient caregivers not listed as 'Eligible' in the IL Healthcare Worker Registry must travel to Illinois at least two Fridays before their start date to complete mandatory in-state fingerprinting; out-of-state fingerprints are not accepted
- All requested time off must be submitted with the application and cannot be added afterward
- Two professional references required, with one from a supervisor, manager, or charge RN within the last year
