Role DescriptionThe Children's Ministry Director is a part-time, on-site role based in Huntley, IL, responsible for leading and overseeing ministry to children and their families. This role includes planning and coordinating weekly children's programs, curriculum, and activities that are biblically grounded and age-appropriate. The director will recruit, train, and support volunteers, ensure a safe and welcoming environment, and partner with parents and caregivers to support children's spiritual growth.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing teaching materials, organizing events and outreach opportunities, communicating with families and staff, and aligning the children's ministry with the overall mission of Springbrook Community Church.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear interpersonal, written, and verbal communication with children, families, volunteers, and staff.
- Experience or training in Youth Ministry, including planning programs, leading teams, and engaging children in a church or faith-based setting.
- Solid understanding of the Bible, with the ability to teach biblical truths in age-appropriate, engaging ways.
- Skills in Spiritual Direction and Discipleship, guiding children and families in their faith journeys and encouraging ongoing spiritual growth.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, including event planning, volunteer coordination, and program management.
- Ability to create safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments for children from diverse backgrounds.
- Alignment with the mission, vision, and core beliefs of Springbrook Community Church and willingness to be an active participant in church life.
- Previous experience in children's or family ministry is preferred; relevant education
