Description

The Village of Huntley is seeking applicants to serve as temporary seasonal workers in the Public Works Department.
This seasonal, full-time position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to expand their knowledge of the Public Works field, develop practical skills, and build their resume in a municipal environment.
Examples of Duties

This position involves physical labor which may include, but is not limited to:

• Maintenance of Village facilities and grounds
• Streets and sidewalks maintenance
• Traffic sign maintenance
• Right-of-way upkeep
• Landscaping and general grounds maintenance
• Other manual labor duties as assigned

The majority of work is performed outdoors, with occasional indoor assignments.
Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license

Applicants with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are highly desired.
Supplemental Information

Compensation: $18.00 per hour (no benefits)
Schedule: Temporary seasonal position beginning in May or early June and lasting approximately three (3) months. Typical schedule is forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Post-Offer Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check is required.
