Shift: 3rd Shift
Hours: 10:45 PM - 7:00 AM
Pay Rate: $36.09/hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential
Summary Description
The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, facility systems, and plant infrastructure to ensure maximum equipment reliability and uptime. This highly skilled maintenance role requires advanced troubleshooting capabilities, PLC knowledge, preventive maintenance expertise, and the ability to support manufacturing operations independently.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform repairs on production equipment, facility systems, and maintenance-related assets
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities on production and facility equipment
- Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes
- Perform routine maintenance on thermoforming machinery
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings
- Complete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance documentation in IQMS
- Record labor hours, project notes, and spare parts usage accurately
- Maintain spare parts inventories and support inventory management activities
- Utilize company vehicles to obtain supplies from local vendors as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist in supervising maintenance activities and supporting maintenance personnel
- Identify maintenance deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
- Perform welding, fabrication, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs as required
Level I Capabilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment
- Safely operate hand tools, shop equipment, and forklifts
- Maintain spare parts inventories
- Work independently while maintaining productivity and safety standards
- Properly document maintenance activities in IQMS
- Troubleshoot HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Read and interpret technical schematics and drawings
- Perform plumbing, welding, and electrical work
- Install electrical services and perform fabrication work
- Open and manage preventive maintenance work orders within IQMS
- Read, troubleshoot, and program PLC logic independently
- Diagnose complex equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Identify opportunities for reliability improvements
- Assist with maintenance team leadership and coordination
- Support advanced troubleshooting and equipment optimization efforts
- You have 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- You have experience working in plastics or thermoforming manufacturing environments (preferred)
- You possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- You can work with 480-volt electrical systems
- You can read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- You have PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
- You have welding, fabrication, and machining experience
- You have strong shop math and measuring skills
- You are proficient with computers and maintenance management systems
- You work safely and independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift Certification
- Lockout/Tagout Certification
- NFPA Electrical Training Certification
- Certifications in machine repair, automated electronic systems, or chemical spill response
- Experience with lathes, milling machines, grinders, and welding equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, push, pull, and work throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in environments with noise, vibration, heat, cold, grease, lubricants, and chemicals
