SALARY RANGE:
The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000 annually. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
This role will primarily focus on the company’s billing functions, from customer setup through cash receipt while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The responsibilities of a Senior Accountant include the full billing cycle, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining accuracy of related accounts in the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in government contracting billing, excellent attention to detail and deep knowledge of federal laws and regulations.
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Set up customer profiles and billing specifics in the accounting system.
- Create sales orders in the accounting system.
- Prepare customer invoices in compliance with commercial and federal awards.
- Communication with customers as necessary to aid in delivery and settlement of billing invoices.
- Weekly reporting of timing of receivables for cash flow forecasting.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Respond to information request ed by management and outside consultants.
- Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, in compliance with SOX.
- Assisting in the training and develop ment of other accountants in the department by providing guidance on best practices and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Address finance and accounting-related inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
The following are non-exhaustive qualifications for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related is preferred, in absence of extensive billing experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
- At least 8 years’ experience in accounting, with significant billing experience
- At least 5 years’ experience working with government contracting, with specific understanding of DCAA compliance
- Significant experience in use of government billing portals, such as WAWF and IPP.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, accounting standards, and industry regulations standards.
- Experience with accounting software implementation and evolution is desirable.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience in account reconciliation.

- Additional hours may be required to support department due dates
- Proficient in Jamis, Costpoint or similar accounting software
