Sun Test Systems, Inc is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong government-contracting experience to support cost accounting, monthly close, and compliance activities in a manufacturing environment. This role will play a key part in maintaining a DCAA-compliant accounting system, supporting audits, and providing accurate financial insight to both finance leadership and operations.

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis
• Support annual financial audit and tax compliance activities
• Weekly duties include activities such as AP, Payroll, booking banking activity etc.
• Validate and Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts

• Assist Operation in tracking and analyzing WIP, inventory, and Cost of Goods Sold
• Partner with operations to understand production drivers, variances, and cost trends
• Assist with BOM costing, labor standards, and production variance analysis

• Support internal reporting, project cost monitoring, and EAC-related analysis
• Help document and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Assist with ERP/financial system enhancements and reporting automation
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Strong working knowledge of FAR Part 31 cost principles
• Experience with cost accounting & inventory accounting

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including government contracting and/or manufacturing.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Hybrid Position; 3 days on-site in Huntsville, AL
