Grounds Control of Huntsville, Inc. is a dynamic and growing Commercial Landscape and Construction company specializing in Landscape Installation, Design, and Maintenance as well as Earthwork and Excavation. We take pride in our commitment to excellence, integrity, and delivering top‑notch solutions to our clients. As part of our expansion, we are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team.
Position OverviewWe are looking for a detail‑oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper with expertise in Quick Books and ideally, experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing our financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting overall financial operations.
Responsibilities- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using Quick Books.
- Record day‑to‑day financial transactions and ensure timely and accurate data entry.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts to resolve any discrepancies.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Provide regular financial updates to management, highlighting key insights.
- Administer payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Keep abreast of relevant tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ideally, possess knowledge of construction industry accounting practices.
- Familiarity with job costing and project accounting in a construction setting.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
- Certification in Quick Books or relevant accounting software is a plus.
