S³, Inc. has an immediate need for an Accountant 2 who will be part of our corporate F&A team at our Research Park HQ in Huntsville, AL.

DescriptionThe Accountant 2 will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will prepare and submit monthly client invoices for all projects within assigned portfolio ensuring invoices are billed accurately and consistently within award requirements and on a timely basis.
Responsibilities- Prepares Monthly billing process including the Costpoint invoice and backup data for all contract types (T&M, FFP, CPFF, etc.).
- Enters Cash Receipts and Posting in Costpoint. Reconciles Revenue to Billings for DCAA auditors, keeps the Open Billing Detail organized and up to date by reviewing and purging unnecessary entries.
- Runs intercompany invoices to allow for timely and proper distribution of costs. Generates Accounts Receivable Aging report and resolves any issues of accounts that may be delinquent or need attention for further research.
- Confirms that the monthly bank statement is parallel to the Cash Receipts posted in Costpoint.
- Responsible for preparation of final invoices for closeouts. Prepares, as necessary, refunds to customers either by PAY.GOV or by electronic EFT or check.
- Examines accounting documents to verify and ascertain that all transactions are supported in accordance with pertinent policies and procedures, classified and recorded according to acceptable accounting standards.
- Assists in the development and installation of accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. Determines need and use of accounting data.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience.
- Three years accounting experience working with Deltek Costpoint.
- Three years of experience researching and resolving billing issues with external and internal clients.
- Experience maintaining company’s billing files.
- Perform monthly general ledger review and account reconciliations.
- Perform audit support for internal and external audits.
- Complete other tasks as requested by the Accounting Manager and Controller.
- 4-5 proficiency with MS Office; particularly Excel.
