The Bookkeeper works closely with the franchise accountant, general manager and franchisee to help support financial operations by recording all financial transactions utilizing Xero software and performing other assigned bookkeeping services related to preparing, recording, and reporting the accounting functions of the franchise.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable Duties
    • Daily closing of fulfilled sales orders
    • Daily accounts receivable processing: receipting customer payments and building deposits in Xero
    • Invoicing of business customers
    • Prepare documentation for credit card disputes/chargebacks
    • Respond to customer phone calls as needed
    • Provide inputs for accounts receivable collection efforts
  • Payroll Duties
    • Maintain master employee listing with rates of pay
    • Track mover/driver extra pay requests
    • Enter and process weekly payroll using third party payroll vendor; provide related reports
    • Maintain employee payroll files and keep automation system current for active employees
    • Assist with verifications of employment and workers comp claims
  • Process and Policy management
    • Assist in development of programs and processes for the franchise in conjunction with results and goals of the franchise
  • Other duties as assigned by the franchise accountant, general manager and/or franchisee
Requirements
  • An associate's degree in accounting, business or finance is preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience is required
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial accounting standards
  • Basic knowledge of general ledger and related accounting systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently
  • Successful problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with Xero accounting software a plus
