What You'll Do:
- Familiar with filing procedures in both state and federal courts (CM/ECF)
- Drafts pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, notices, and subpoenas
- Prioritizes, organizes, and manages workload and to take the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done
- Conducts various document searches and factual research
- Prepares witness and matter materials for case preparation using relevant documents for attorney review
- Organize exhibits, files and all other supporting documents to prepare for trial
- Works in databases to include searching and retrieval of data and data entry
- Manages check requests and travel reimbursements via workflow technology
- Handles scheduling for attorneys
- Manages pre-bill and billing statement process via workflow in collaboration with global support team
- Works collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Other duties assigned by Director of Practice Support
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a legal secretary, administrative assistant and/or paralegal
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Superior technology skills - proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- High degree of professionalism including the ability to exercise good judgment when interacting with clients
- Ability to put emphasis on teamwork through being a great team member, promoting cooperation within and between teams across the firm
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or combination of related experience and a two-year paralegal degree; a paralegal certification and related experience will also meet minimum requirements
