Position: Point of Care Assistant- Lab- FT- 1st Shift

Overview

Assists in the daily management of the hospital’s Point‑Of‑Care Testing Program. Responsibilities include data collection and organization, quality testing, policy enforcement, process documentation, inventory control of departmental supplies, computer data entry and word processing, and staff training.

  • Performs laboratory tests using standard procedures, and identifies causes of technical and instrumental problems.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience
    :
    Minimum of two years experience in a hospital environment working with test orders/lab processes strongly preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Abilities
    :
    Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in handling patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the identification and reporting of numbers and names. Must be proficient in use of computer and word processing skills.
