Lift Operator - Winter

Description

The
Lift operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading guests of all ages and abilities using our chairlifts. As a member of the Lift Operations team, the lift operator will provide exceptional service and safety for our guests during their visit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate multiple Lifts, Gondolas, Tow and Carpets for the guests
• Follow company/department safety policies and procedures.
• Able to work independently or in a small group to accomplish daily job-related tasks.
• Complete pre-operational procedures, and inspections.
• Assist in snow removal, daily set up and routine maintenance of work areas.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and provide service above and beyond guest expectations.
• Remain alert for guests improperly loading and unloading the ski lifts to ensure their safety
• Assist with completing lift closing procedures.
• Work with all mountain departments respectfully in assisting and resolving issues that could arise during the operations.

Qualifications:

• 18 years or older, high school diploma or equivalent
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Able to lift 25 pounds and on occasion up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights when needed.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
• The employee must frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, shovel, rake, or ice chip.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
• Skiing/Snowboarding is a plus but not required
• Completion of Snowbasin Lift Operations Department training
• Able to commit the entire winter season
