Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR's Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.

The Senior Construction Manager will sit full time at our client project office in Huntsville and will be required to maintain a Top Secret Security clearance. Due to client contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

In this role, we'll count on you to:

* Lead all of HDR's efforts as related to Construction Management for a Mega Project

* Supervise and lead subordinate CMs and inspectors

* Advise the owner throughout all phases of planning, design, procurement, construction, and close out

* Take responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control

* Prepare the Project Management Plan of Construction Management Plan

* Develop procedures for executing construction contract administration such activities including document, change, time, cost, quality and safety management, and implement procedures in coordination with the project team

* Perform additional construction management activities, including development procurement - construction schedules, construction subcontract scopes, review of subcontract terms and conditions, performance of constructability and value engineering reviews, construction estimating and schedule reviews, and project construction performance presentations

* Administer and manage construction activities

* Monitor progress of the overall design as related to construction requirements

* Perform value engineering and constructibility reviews

* Coordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field

* Assist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages

* Coordinate document management

* Review or coordinate review of Coordinate, expedite and reviewing construction submittals including shop drawings and pay applications

* Prepare, issue and negotiate Change Orders

* Review and analyze baseline and updated construction schedules

* Control the project budget and schedule

* Coordinate and manage project quality assurance and control, and inspection services

* Ensure subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections

* Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management

Due to client contract requirements, qualified candidates must possess a current TS SCI Security clearance for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

* Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

* Experience with a $500M Construction Project as a Lead Construction Manager

* Experience with Construction PMiS

* Experience with estimating software, scheduling software, project management software and web-based collaboration software for the exchange of documents

* Knowledge of Department of War Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)

* Knowledge of Department of Army and Air Force Technical Standards, local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience.
