Position SummaryEstimator/Project Manager – Alabama Operations (Huntsville, Alabama). Reports to the Chief Estimator. This role focuses on safety excellence, bid preparation, project oversight, and client relationship management.
Job Responsibilities- Active participation in the company safety program, values, policies, and strategic plan.
- Prepare bid packages, estimates, and analyze subcontractor bids for commercial and municipal projects.
- Review plans, specifications, contract documents, and attend pre‑bid meetings to understand requirements for accurate bid preparation.
- Coordinate multiple activities and work teams to maximize project efficiency.
- Communicate and maintain positive working relationships with owners, engineers, architects, customers, and internal team members to develop bid packages, manage projects, and resolve operational issues.
- Analyze project cost and pricing information for preparation of bids, construction subcontracts, and project management.
- Monitor job progress, status of project estimates, invoicing and subcontractors to ensure proper constructability, completion, and close‑out of projects.
- Create and maintain accurate forecast of job cost and margin from conception to completion of projects.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in estimating, project management, and supervision.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving, grading/drainage, and utility work.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proven sales, negotiation, and customer relations skills.
- Proficient in software tools (Microsoft Suite, HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Heavy Job, AGTEK, Blue Beam, and Bid Tabs).
- Excellent time management and delegation skills.
- Self‑starter ability and ability to work under limited supervision.
