OSP Field Inspector – Fiber/Broadband Construction | $65K–$76K | Southeast Travel

Employment Type: 12+ month Contract Location: Field-based — travel across Gulf Coast states (Southeast); potential future projects in the Midwest/Mid-Atlantic Compensation: $65,000–$76,000/year Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. — no visa sponsorship, transfers, OPT, or C2C available for this role.

About the Role

Tek Com Resources is hiring an OSP Field Inspector to support broadband fiber expansion across the Southeast. You'll work directly with sub-contractors and project management to inspect and monitor field crews performing excavation, boring, hand-hole placement, fiber cable installation, grounding, and site restoration — making sure builds are accurate, on schedule, and built to spec.

This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on OSP construction experience, ideally with directional drilling exposure, who's comfortable with heavy travel and wants to be part of the national broadband buildout.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect field sites for compliance with project specs, construction standards, and safety protocols
  • Review and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to verify accurate implementation
  • Oversee fiber cable installation — routing, splicing, and termination
  • Approve excavation and hand-hole/cabinet placement for structural integrity and spec compliance
  • Verify grounding systems and electrical safety compliance
  • Document daily progress, inspection logs, and photos
  • Act as the on-the-ground liaison between crews, project managers, and stakeholders

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in OSP (Outside Plant) construction, ideally in telecommunications
  • Directional drilling experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specs
  • Working knowledge of NESC and industry safety/compliance standards
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively to field sites
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in varied weather, including walking and climbing at job sites
