Willoughby Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. (WRSM) has been a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor in the commercial and industrial roofing sector since 1946. The company serves government, industrial, automotive, retail, education, and healthcare facilities, offering comprehensive services including commercial and industrial roofing, residential roofing, sheet metal fabrication, service and maintenance, and wall panels. WRSM installs a wide range of roofing systems, such as single-ply membranes, modified bitumen, built-up roofing, standing seam metal, architectural shingles, and various roof coatings.

In addition to roofing, the organization provides construction and flooring services through dedicated divisions. WRSM supports clients from multiple offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee, with serviceable areas spanning most of the United States.

The Superintendent role is a full-time remote position responsible for overseeing commercial and industrial roofing projects from planning through completion. Typical day-to-day tasks include coordinating crews and subcontractors, managing project schedules, monitoring site safety and quality, and ensuring adherence to specifications, building codes, and company standards. The Superintendent regularly communicates with project managers, clients, and suppliers, tracks materials and equipment needs, and resolves on-site issues to keep projects on time and within budget.

The role also involves reviewing drawings, documentation, and change orders, preparing progress reports, and supporting punch list and closeout activities. Remote work will be combined with frequent travel to project sites within WRSM's service areas as required.

• Candidates should possess strong project oversight and coordination skills, including experience managing multiple jobs, scheduling crews, and aligning work with budgets and timelines.
• Candidates should possess construction and roofing expertise, with practical knowledge of commercial and industrial roofing systems, materials, installation methods, and applicable building codes and safety regulations.
• Candidates should possess team leadership and communication skills, including the ability to motivate field staff, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide clear, professional updates and documentation.
• Candidates should possess problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess site conditions, address conflicts, and implement effective solutions under time constraints.
• Candidates should possess digital and organizational skills, including proficiency with project management software, remote communication tools, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Relevant qualifications include prior experience as a superintendent, foreperson, or similar construction leadership role; familiarity with commercial roofing environments; and a valid driver’s license with willingness to travel.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include OSHA or other safety certifications, knowledge of quality control practices, and a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred but not required.
