Position: The Rocket City Needs a Pediatric Neurologist to Join Established Practice

Overview

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is recruiting a child neurologist to join our hospital-employed, established child neurology practice. Duties include an outpatient clinic and serving as a consulting service for inpatients. The office is conveniently located next to Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.

Practice Details

Practice mainly sees seizures, headaches, developmental delays, CP and muscle issues. Baclofen pump, Botox, EEG, EMG/NCV studies, EMU monitoring. We receive 50-60 referrals a week and see approximately 15-18 patients daily per physician. Call is 1:3 (however, call back is very low, maybe 3-5 calls during that 7-day period and most can be handled via phone).

Hospital Overview

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is a stand-alone facility that offers the region's most comprehensive and experienced maternal and child health programs. With an average of 5,000 births a year and 16,000 admissions annually, the hospital is the only one of its kind in the region with a 75-bed Level III NICU, an 11-bed PICU, a 16-bed pediatric ER, and a 38-bed inpatient pediatric floor which is managed by pediatric hospitalists.

Pediatric neurology serves as a consulting service to the NICU, PICU, ER and pediatric floors. The PICU and pediatric floors have multiple rooms for EMU monitoring. Teaching opportunities with UAB MS3/MS4 and Family Medicine Residents on campus.

Qualifications
  • Applicants should be ABPN certified or, in the case of recent trainees, be board eligible in child neurology.
Compensation

This is an employed position which offers a competitive compensation package with base salary plus worked RVUs/productivity and quality incentives.
