Randolph School seeks an experienced, student-centered educational leader to serve as its next Head of Lower School
, beginning in 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the foundational division of one of the Southeast’s most respected independent schools and to play a meaningful role on the school’s senior leadership team.
Founded in 1959, Randolph School is a coeducational, college-preparatory independent school serving students in grades K–12. Randolph is known for its strong academic program, character education, and commitment to developing curious, confident, and compassionate learners.
The Lower School is central to Randolph’s mission and culture, providing a joyful, rigorous, and developmentally responsive learning environment for its youngest students.
The OpportunityThe Head of Lower School provides academic, cultural, and operational leadership for the division and works closely with faculty, families, and school leadership to ensure an exceptional educational experience. The successful candidate will be a visible presence in the community and a trusted partner to the Head of School.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a strong Lower School faculty through coaching, evaluation, and professional development
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and student-centered culture
- Partner with families through clear communication and relationship-building
- Oversee curriculum, instruction, and assessment in alignment with Randolph’s mission
- Collaborate with senior leadership on school-wide initiatives and strategic priorities
- Significant experience in elementary or Lower School education
- Demonstrated success in faculty leadership and team development
- Deep understanding of child development and best practices in teaching and learning
- Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills
- Experience in an independent school setting is strongly preferred
